I was still on liquids until day 18, but even then I would get stuffed on 1-2 tablespoons of puréed food. I could eat a little more after a month, but then when I started soft foods I was back at square one...only 1-2 tablespoons would leave me full for most of the day. Started feeling normal about 3 months out.

I didn't have a swollen stomach. My doctor said that he tried to express all the gas out before I went to recovery. So glad that he did that.

I think she was talking about actual stomach/sleeve swelling from the cutting and stapling which causes increased restriction early on, not abdominal swelling from the gas. At least that's what I was referring to in my reply. As for the gas, I really didn't have any issues with that either.

Hi It is normal. Remember the rules - slow and small and Protein first !!. It does feel weird that we are fine with such small amounts of food but it is normal. Enjoy the feeling that you can be full with such a small amount. Are you getting all your fluids and protein in?
