Burping.. Will it ever end?

So I have had the band for 10 months now. Great success... but the burping is TERRIBLE! I burp when I'm hungry, I burp while I eat and drink. I burp for no reason. I haven't consumed any carbonated drinks in over a year and I only drink Water and unsweetened tea... STUPID BURPS! I have also kept gas strips with me to see if it helps, but it'll go away and come back in an hour or so. :( I need suggestions, if any!

:D

Excessive burping comes from swallowing too much air I'm told? Have you spoken to your surgeon or nutritionist? Could be the way you swallow Water or food now? I seldom burp. I hiccup when I'm no longer hungry but burps are rare.

If you have insurance, check out a gastroenterologist?

I have been banded for four months and have the same problem. It was getting so out of control that I had my surgeon remove some fluid last week which has helped some. I would burp and burp and burp and then get sick and then get a horrid headache... It was no good. I notice sometimes the burping is better than other days and I have not figured out what makes the difference... Hope to hear some solutions. Thanks for posting!

I am 6 weeks out and burp all the time for no reason. Doctor said I may be drinking to fast but it is not even when I am drinking. I am interested if others have some suggestions.

Same. Sometimes the burping helps, other times it causes major discomfort. :-( I have an appointment in a week so I'm hoping I can ask more questions then.

Last time I mentioned it to my doctor he told me not to use straws and to drink much slower. I've tried but I still burp like crazy!!!!
