Guilty...

Ok I am going to confess. I barley tracked what I ate this week, I went out to dinner 3 times, and I am eating carbs more. I normally weigh in on Fridays but I am ashamed and don't want to step on the scale tomorrow. I don't want to get discouraged if I gained... My first adjustment is May 12th. I feel like I am slowly converting to my old ways...

You're in bandster hell. This is a difficult time for newly banded patients. I was in BH for nearly 4 months. Don't beat yourself up. Few of us made it through this phase without slipping up a few times.

This is just a diet till you get the fill that gives you restriction.

This is bandster hell that I heard of ... I was banded Mar 26/14... I'm from toronto so we have to wait 7 weeks from surgery date to get a fill (we get a small one at surgery - tiny!) ... I feel like I can eat ALOT of food still and am trying to consciously diet. I've got 2 weeks until I can request a fill... In the meantime willpower & dieting is a huge struggle.... Am I alone with this?

You are not alone!!!

You can get support from the wonderful people you meet here!

I was banded on May 10th 2011, my band is not too tight ( 3 cc)because I have realized that if the "right " food doesn't go down, I turn to the "wrong" one!

Cakes and chocolate are not stopped by my band.

I am easily satiated with small amounts of food..the fight is not against my stomach, but my mind

Best luck!

only YOU can allow yourself to divert back to old ways so dont

get back on track now....you are still thinking in diet terms

you are not on a diet.....eat as good as you should (and you know how and what are better choices)......and exercise....only you can do that......

3500 calories is a pound

if you eat more than you burn off, you will gain

no matter if you have a fill or bypass or sleeve or no WLS

and if you get on the scale, what if you lose? see what i am trying to say?

you could be PMSing, eating out has alot of salt so i see Water retention or

you need a big poop who the freek knows......so if the scale goes up, it will go down

once you get back to doing what you need to do

dont use (no fill or not having one (me for instance) as a reason to go back

to eating like we did before surgery....we do not have to do that.....banster hell is

in our minds in my opinion just as rosettag said........

I was so glad to read that I am the only one. Now that I feel like I can eat again, I am. Not horribly, but enough to get myself in trouble if I let it. I need to keep up with what I started and remember my goal. We can do it together:)
