I've never had problems taking pills. Up till a few months ago, I took about 10 at a time. until the nite when I had to give my husband the heimlich when he choked on a handful of pills. Literally couldn't breath. Try to do the heimlich on someone taller and bigger than u. It took 10 times for him to choke them up.

Now I take them 1 at a time. Never had a problem with taking them. even right after surgery. My dr told me if I had no problems, I could take whatever I had. He gave me liquid Vicodin post op but that was the only liquid med I took. can't stand the taste of the chewable bariatric vits so I don't take them. I think it's better to take a pill if I won't take the chewable ones.

Good luck!

There is no easy way around it unfortunately. I had a horrible time when I first started out. I talked with my surgeon and he basically said to space them out as much as I could and only worry about taking the most important ones until I was able. Not meaning to sound like you haven't already thought of it but I stick to the rule of thumb of call the doctor with every question. If you have a good one...he or she won't mind ;)

I also take about 10-15 pills per day...I'm 6 days post open. No problems. I used to take them all in the morning, but now I space them out throughout the day.

I can take pills, but I have to take pills 15 minutes apart. Super annoying.

I found that taking my Vitamins spaced out made me just as nauseous every time as just swallowing them all at once... So yeah, I swallow them all at once. I've taken pills my whole life, I am one of those people who can swallow just about anything without choking.

I'll leave the implications to the readers... LOL
