Low Potassium...why?
Hello all! I am 12 weeks post-op gastric sleeve and have repeatedly had problems with low potassium. I know I technically should be eating more potassium rich foods but tell that to my tummy. Please tell me I'm not alone in this and if you have any suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks

Starving Myself? And other fears...
Girl I am here for you! I felt the same way. You are not starving yourself. When you are in the hospital they are supplementing you and medicating you so it things just seem to be easier. I am in my 9th week out and I am just now able to drink 30-40 ounces a day. Relax and sip, sip, sip. You'll get there. I do, however, suggest that you call your surgeon's office and let them know about your trouble. It is to be expected but it could also be acid reflux or such. I had to go back into the hospital around the 10th day out because of that exact reason. And Gomekast is 100% correct...if you have to choose between eating and drinking always go with drinking. Hope this helps...let me know if you need an ear at anytime because I have certainly been in your shoes .

meds
There is no easy way around it unfortunately. I had a horrible time when I first started out. I talked with my surgeon and he basically said to space them out as much as I could and only worry about taking the most important ones until I was able. Not meaning to sound like you haven't already thought of it but I stick to the rule of thumb of call the doctor with every question. If you have a good one...he or she won't mind

CANT TAKE THE ITCH!
I had it bad too...just don't scratch! Get in the shower and let some warm Water run over them. It is a temporary fix but it is a few minutes in heaven .

3 days POST-Opp and having troubling with GAS
The gas is awful. My surgeon gave me some Mylicon (yes the stuff for babies) and it worked wonders. However, the pain in your chest could also be gastric reflux as well. I ended up in the hospital about 10 days post-op because mine was so unmanageable. Give your doctor a call...no sense in you being so miserable. I had my surgery 1/27/14 so I am certainly not a sleeve expert yet but I believe it will be just fine t :0)

Feeling like a failure to this
I am so sorry to hear you are having a hard time. I had the gastric sleeve surgery on 1/27/14 and have lost right at 50 lbs. I too go through spurts where it will fall off one week and then 1 lb. at a time...very frustrating. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. It is called freedom from our fat. You are doing excellent. I also have struggled with depression...actually my whole life. It is definitely a struggle. Do know you are not alone!
