How soon 'til pool?

I am 11 days post-op and having zero problems (and have lost 9 happy pounds!). At my post op visit yesterday, the nurse practicitioner said she'd wait 4 weeks after surgery to get pack in the pool. I teach water aerobics at the local Y. Eeek. I called another surgeon this am., and he said I could hit the pool now. At least one, maybe more, people have attended my class one week post laproscopic lapband surgery. What do ya'll think?

My wife (the fish) loves to swim. Our doc told her she could start when the "bandages" on the incisions fell off. Mine came off in the shower the fourth and fifth days. Her's lasted almost ten days.

I'd ask your doc, not the nurse....

I didnt go in to the water until all the scabs had fallen off and everything was totally healed up.

But..definatly call Dr not nurse.

I was told 4 weeks if its your own pool and 6 weeks if its a community pool. I think I would ask the Dr.
