I hate not drinking while I eat.

I'm about two weeks post op and doing well. I'm currently on the puréed food phase. I am HATING not being able to drink water while I eat. I constantly feel like I need to cleanse my pallet. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when I start back on whole foods. Any suggestions?

Thank you everyone for this post, I hadn't thought about this and I drink a pint of Water with my meals so I'm so glad I read this as it's opened my eyes.

Especially about the spicy food and wanting a clean pallet.

My op is next week so read in time lol.

it was really hard for the first couple of months. now, i dont ever think about it. i do have a cup of coffee and then a big bottle of hot tea first thing in the morning before i have breakfast to give me a jump on my fluids for the day. its easier to get in my protein than my water.

Oh I hate that too!! It is a hard habit to break! I have to physically move my water out of reach because I've caught myself picking it up out if habit ;)

I'm still on the puréed phase. But I can definitely see my self picking food with more liquid for that reason.

It's hard. I completely agree. I forget to start drinking again or get busy at work and before I know it, it's been 2 hours and I haven't had anything to drink. I definitely need to work on it.
