    UK Sleevers

Hi Bettygirl , I'm three wks out Tues and felt like you do I believe everyone gets scared and truly it comes down to the decision to not think about the scary things. It's not a magic formula, it's better than that, it's simply life and mind over matter. Every day, before and after, has brought both thrills and spills and this way I know I'm still in control and I'm strong enough to do it and so are you. Have faith you've got this, keep moving forward.

    Post wound care

Hi, I kept dressings on for about eight days, I'm now applying savlon antiseptic cream all day and as soon as they have closed completely I will start applying my scar gel. I am gently massaging them as a couple a bit lumpy, hope that helps

Hi everyone I'm all done and survived. I can't fault the belgium hospital or my surgeon and his team. Everyone speaks very good English and I don't mind being quite, slept most of the time. The barium took its toll and threw up whist waiting for contact flight but it was okay. I was hoping I wouldn't be one of those who got hungry but am lol. Starting purees but really want to crunch. Not sure how I feel now, it was hard and the weight slipping off so just going along with it, one day at a time.

    Any April Sleevers

Well I'm a week out from the 8th and thankfully each day has got better. First few days bad then badish but manageable nothing I couldn't handle, besides I was too tired to cry. Slept loads, in fact all day Tues and wed. The hotel in Belgium was great but my room was above where the smokers went and in Europe cigs smell like cigars, awful. Travelling on two flights by myself was okay though majorly sick between flites. At home drinking tea as Water made the bile rise and drinking cuppa Soups, avoiding anything fruity as too acidic. Lost weight but at this point don't care as still getting head round that I want to eat... So my mantra is keep moving forward and one day at a time.

    April 2014 sleevers

Another post so soon but I'm sat in airport waiting for connecting flight ready for op tomorrow and can't stop going to toilet. I'm not nervous just tired, I'm hot and my feet hurt and just swigged a huge bottle of Water. I guess for the next few weeks all us April Sleevers will finally begin, good luck to everyone and will try to keep messaging x

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

My rant today, I'm a newbie well not actually true as I'm sat in the airport waiting to be a newbie and I love these threads. I've read everything twice but who doesn't love a rant. Remember another day and another hour you could feel the love, it was just on this particular day the thread bearer had a protein meltdown and rather than make sour lemonade she made a... well not actually sure what this would be called but I like it lol. Secondly parisshel I could batter u, fancy telling me that Ryan gosling has big ears, I'm too scared to look at the thumbnail president rev sent me. Though does the saying about big feet equate to big ears in which case I would hug u as you've given me a new happy thought as they put me under, well I know what my kids look.

    April 2014 sleevers

Hi keewee big breath what will be will be. It would be great if it goes straight through and would be chuffed for you BUT if the game plan changes it's still ok, you most probably already had an epic journey, yep gonna use that word, your still getting it done it's just the date might change. Fingers crossed x

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

Bloody typical by the time I get to sit down and read the threads and yes some are so... never mind dont want the wrist slap I get to this one and have to go to bed. If I get time with my 5 days away I may read this thread from the beginning. I wonder what was the most responed to thread in the shortest time, maybe that should be the next topic.

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

So glad this carried on, whats that song 'what diference a day makes...' Even more confused now, but that fecal transplant story, bloody amazin and that driving bitch, what a cow, I like to think I would have been dignified but the range of moods I have I wouldn't be that lucky, ah the horror. And I didnt dream about ryan gosling but now ive seen the thumbnail I can live in hope sigh

    protein

Hi joyann what about unflavoured Protein powder with hotwater or mixing with ur soup, I haven't tried it myself but am going to try. Ive invested in choc protein powder I mix with Water, unflavoured to mix in soup and a vanilla for my coffee tho not sure how that will work out.

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

Well I've now had time to get my dictionary, thesaurus and self help books but still don't think I can keep up. I was watching a Ryan Reynolds film, what is it about the name Ryan though madam Mr gosling is my preferred flavour lol. But hell its one in the morning and knackered so going to bed. Sweet dreams, now if I could dream about gosling what a great sleep.

    Repetitive and Circuitous Topics....

Bloody marvelous madam reverie you are a scarily intelligent person but you still made me grin. Now should I start a new post about the virtues of boredom or the restriction of meltdowns. Maybe you should read a magazine lol, there's a brilliant one called focus about lots of clever things. Best wishes Tongue in cheek xx

    What do i do?!?

I guess we are all scared, worried, doubtful but what's the alternative? No seriously ask yourself what's the alternative. If the wobbles are too much at this time then you can wait it's that easy and if the butterflies disappear then you know your answer but If you feel worse then you still know your answer. I'm 4 days out and may have a few wobbles but my butterflies are worse when I think of not doing it. There are so many great stories and really nice people on this site so perhaps take some inspiration from them. Good luck and best wishes whatever your decision.
  19. Haven't told many and in a few weeks you likely won't care and when you feel strong enough and IF it still bothers you look her straight in the eye and tell her you are uncomfortable with her comments, but like I said u probably won't care. I'm very private nor do I like attention but I am expecting comments so not just thought about my diet and exercise but how the comments are going to make me feel and prepared a a few replys.
  20. You look wonderful, well done

    Any April Sleevers

Mmmm underwear, change of trousers, shorts as hospitals are hot, nightie, slippers, wetwipes, lip balm, shampoo and bodywash, phone and charger, bottle of water, alarm clock for hotel, Cpap machine, and bit personal but large sanitary towel for potential accidents on journey home. But what else?
  22. Thank you everyone for this post, I hadn't thought about this and I drink a pint of Water with my meals so I'm so glad I read this as it's opened my eyes. Especially about the spicy food and wanting a clean pallet. My op is next week so read in time lol.
