I've done my 6 month process met all requirements and now I'm in the waiting game . Somtimes it hits me ; wow my life is fixing to change for the better . At the same time I'm scared . I'm worried about getting thru the pre opt diet , I'm worried what if I don't have enough funds to get what I need . Has any one else gone thru this ?? I really need support from anyone !!

Most everyone worries about surgical afterlife. It's only human nature. Most of us feared losing our comfort food/blanket. But, that passes and the thrill of losing fat exceeds those negative feelings.

Change is always scary...even if it is change for the good or necessary change.

Pre op and post op diets are temporary. You will be changing your lifestyle once you have the band, but will still be able to eat pretty much what you want, just in a different and more thoughtful way.

Money was a concern for me as well. I am a stay at home mom (work part time now) of 2 boys. In order to care for our family the way we want we had to make sacrifices along the way...tight budget. But we have managed. I figured if need be I would make payments for the rest of my life, which will now be longer because of the surgery/weight loss.

It is all about perspective. There is no monetary value that I could place or that my husband and boys would place on having me here longer. I couldn't do this on my own. I needed help.

Take a deep breath. You will do just fine. Best wishes.

Hi Sylvia, this is such a difficult time, the waiting game! I hope you hear soon and can start making plans. Meanwhile, best wishes for a great first weekend of spring (so I'm told -- wouldn't know it to look out the window!).
