Anyone liver enzymes AST and ALT was elevated after surgery? Did it come back down or stay up? I was sleeved on 1/30/14 and my liver test came back elevated. Due to see my surgeon next week. A little anxious about results.

Mine wasn't after surgery but before I did. That can be fatty liver, liver damage, gall bladder, sphincter of oddi dysfunction, medicine related, or if you are drinking from that. Mine was from sphincter of oddi dysfunction and medicine. It went back down. Your body is really out of whack after surgery and everything is healing still. I would talk to the surgeon and have him run some tests but I wouldn't freak out just yet. Mine went triple what they were supposed to and my liver is fine now. You get really fatigued and stuff when they are high so just take it easy.

Thank you. I don't drink but I take pain med a Tylenol. I see the surgeon. Next week so I will know more. I read somewhere that weight loss can cause the liver enzymes to go up too. Thanks again.
