  • Hi there, congratulations on your surgery and best wishes for a speedy recovery. I enjoyed hot tea quite a bit, as well as popsicles.

Not hungry or thirsty . I don't feel like drinking. Any suggestions?

Shouldn't hurt to sip a little. You were pumped with a lot of fluids during surgery so it's understandable. Thirst will return soon.

how much of a protein shake can i expect to get down in the first week out?

First week out I had no problems with liquid. Didn't really want the shakes guess cuz I had them for 2 weeks preop. Answer to question...you will prolly sip it slowly but you should be able to get the whole thing down. Liquids won't hesitate in the band even once you're green.

I'm 2nd day post op. Have no problems with liquids or shakes. Gas pains are my problem and being comfortable sitting and getting up.
