when to exercise?

I had my 2 week post check up on Monday, I have lost a total of 24 pounds since the 24th of febraury, and I was so flabbergasted I forgot to ask my surgeon the most important question I had on my mind. when can I start exercising? I know your supposed to exercise daily but at what extent? treadmill? bicycle? I mean, what can I do? I would love to go to the gym tomorrow because working out really does change your perspective of the day...just need some ideas? when did you start exercising?

Call him tomorrow and ask.

I started walking week 1 (and light hand weights: 5lbs) and was cleared for more strenuous activity week 6. But it just depends on your situation and doctor's preferances.

I just went for my 2 week post op and was cleared to do all activity.

I walked from 2 hours out of surgery but my surgeon would not let me do anything that involved stomach muscles until week 8. I also could not swim laps until week 8. I did do the treadmill from the very beginning though and got up to 3 miles by week 8 when I could start doing everything else. If your office has a website support, ask there because mine answers all kinds of questions on the website. Good luck on your exercise.
