Pre-op diet starts today!

Aaaaagggghhhh! I can't believe that I'm having surgery in 10 days! Starting pre-op diet today of two shakes and one lean protein meal with green veggies. I know it's better than an all liquids diet... But I'm still scared! Hope I can stick to it exactly and be prepared! Good luck to everyone getting ready!!!

You will do great, just keep thinking about the future. I am on my second day of pre-op diet. Mine is not as strict as yours. I am on a 1200 calorie diet until two days before surgery , and then on two days of shakes and a few soft foods before surgery.

First 4-5 days will be bad, not going to lie. You have to keep yourself very busy. When you feel the urge to cheat (cause you will), get up and walk or do some activity. After day 5, its much easier and managable.

Good luck and hang in there. I just started my liquid only diet yesterday and it is really hard. I just went to get change for a $20 bill for my job and walked by a taco truck. I swear it never smelled that good before today. I hope your surgery goes well.

Thanks so much to you all for your encouragement! I am feeling really tired and just a little headachy so far today. I've had one shake, and tilapia for lunch. Another shake for dinner to come. Ugh. I'm sure I'll feel even worse tomorrow! I'm grateful for all of you!
