  1. I will be 1 week post-op tomorrow. I am taking vit. b12 also and calcium. I am experiencing fatigue. I was told to make sure I got the Protein shakes , Vitamins and liquids in and that would help. I think part of it is just the healing process. I do walk every two hours during the day for 10 min. like they told me. Hopefully next week will be better.
  2. I am needing a cortisone shot in my shoulder right now. I was told I could not have one until several months after the surgery when the doctor gives the okay. They said it would cause problems with healing. I am having gastric sleeve surgery in 2 days. Your doctor may be different. Be sure to ask before you get a shot.
  3. Hi , I have my surgery in 2 days. I have to admit that I am a little nervous now. I am also a little worried about the hair loss that some people have. Hopefully we will not have any at all. Good luck on you upcoming surgery. I hope everything goes well.
  4. Hi , I have been on the pre-diet for 7 days now. My surgery is next Thursday, and I am going through a lot of emotions right now. The first 3 days of the diet in the later afternoon and evening were the most difficult. I am able to drink herbal tea on my diet so that has helped when I feel really hungry. I also have a horrible cold I am getting over right now, so I have not been as hungry as usual. Keeping as busy as I can has helped keep my mind off food. Looking towards the future is worth the effort of getting past this part. This time will go quickly and you will get past it, and be proud you did it. Hang in there , you can do this.
  5. You will do great, just keep thinking about the future. I am on my second day of pre-op diet. Mine is not as strict as yours. I am on a 1200 calorie diet until two days before surgery , and then on two days of shakes and a few soft foods before surgery.
  6. Good luck to you on your surgery. My surgery date is March 13th. Very excited and a little nervous at the same time. I am on my second day of the required 1200 calorie diet.
  7. HI, I just went to my pre-op appointment yesterday. My surgery is scheduled for March 13th. I start the pre-op diet in 6 days. I am very excited to go forward with this procedure after years of problems keeping my weight off , and years of orthopedic problems. The first appointment is a little overwhelming, due to the amount of information given. I am now able to read the information and it makes more sense. My doctor is Dr. Teresa Lamasters , DesMoines , Iowa. My insurance is BC/BS.
