Banded 2-26-14

I was banded on yesterday.. Honestly I haven't had a whole lot of discomfort as of yet.. I was instructed to walk every hour for 10 minutes.. My husband set alarms. He has been my doctor at home.. I used the heating pad on my shoulder , a lil pain there.. I'm not sure if the fact that I am taking the pain pill every four hours on time is why I'm not really feeling the gas pain that others talk about.. It's like I'm waiting for it. I ended up having a hernia repair also... So far so good so good looking forward to the next phases.

  • I am very grateful. Just didn't know if that meant something.

  • I didn't have to gas pain everyone talks about. It never happened, it might not for you either. Best of luck!!

  • I had very little gas pain so be grateful you're not having this experience. I too have read here where some people are incapacitated over the gas pain.

I was banded last Friday and only experienced the CO2 gas pain in my back right after I woke up and when I went home. I put a heating pad on it and didn't feel that pain again. Now I just have GI gas pain and bloating. It's getting better though. Maalox is amazing.

Did any of you have blood to come thorough any of your dressing. I'm just a little concerned, it's on my port dressing.

Seepage will happen. If it becomes a flow, call your doctor but it's normal. Try not to flex your abs as much as possible till the incisions heal.
