Hi Robert, I too have not been banded, just made my consult appointment. Sorry, I don't know anything about grants, I am going to to self pay. I am also a novice at the discussion forum. I hope you find what you are looking for. Just wanted to say "hi"

Have you given any thought to having it done in Mexico? There are many threads here discussing how clean and professional they were in Mexico, and yet the cost is about $8500.

Welcome to the boards :)

Hi HelenC, If I make it, I will be having Dr. Kirshenbaum do it in Colorado, I have heard that he charges $9950 covering eveything, even the first three months of aftercare (fills)?? I live so close to his office. I did consider having it done in Mexico until I heard about Dr. K. Do you know how long I would need to return for the fills? Are fills like every month or two for the rest of your life?

I don't know of any grant programs. There are many fniancing/loan/payment options around. Someone here was advertising something they used to get their band, where you solicit a loan from people versus a bank (so credit becomes not so much of an issue)... but I couldn't tell you anything about it. Search around and you might be able to find it. I remember it was a female user, and that the name of this company was everywhere. She maybe even changed her user name to it, come to think.
