That was the first question I asked my surgeon after surgery. He said I could walk but nothing else until 6 weeks post op. This gives our body time to heal after a major surgery. I had a set back at 2

Yup, just walk, and following surgery, get up and walk,ASAP! It helps healing and gets rid of teh gas they pump into you during surgery! Best wishes, Karen

Hey everyone. I'm one day pre-op and I already go to the gym five days a week. Food is my problem- certainly not physical activity. While I prefer cardio to weightlifting, being in the gym centers me. I'm getting mixed answers as to how soon I can hop back on an elliptical. Any post-op gymmers out there have any advice? Being sedimentary for a long time will be more painful then the recovery. I have no co-morbidities and courtesy of the pre-op fast am a good-feeling 275lb 37yr old guy. Thanks all!
