Protein Shakes...Count as fluid intake?

I'm three weeks out now and have been told by my surgeon to experiment now with food.

To ensure I get the Protein in I'm thinking about still continuing with the shakes. But should I count these shakes as Fluid intake or count it as food? Of course I will be watching the calorie count.

Xx

I'm almost a year post op and still have a protein shake a day to keep the protein levels up. I was also told the shakes could be counted toward meeting the fluid intake as well. Now that you're moving onto more foods, have you checked out My Fitnesss Pal? It's great for tracking all your food, calories, fluids and even exercise to see where you stand each day. Good luck!

Me too and of course I strongly second My Fitness Pal!

My nutritionist had told me it counts as both. Same with soup, yogurt, etc.
