Bruising

I am five days out and have bruising around my steri strips. Is this normal?? They didn't tell me anything at the hospital for this. The nurse told me only if it feels hot, has puss or I have a fever to go to the hospital. I have nasty black and blues on my belly.

I am seven days out and I have bruising too! I don't have any other symptoms and no pain so I think I am fine. I see surgeon tomorrow for first po.

I have one large bruise below the largest incision.

6 days post op here and I have the same thing. I had them before I left hospital and the doctor told me thats normal! I developed a few more after I left the hospital...I imagine it just has to do with the internal trauma

I had bruising too! However, I am so fair in complexion my bruises actually looked a shade of yellow. When my case manager called for a check up, I told her no puss or oozing, but I had some bruises around the strips that were yellow. She said that was normal. Remember you went through a surgery that they cut into your skin. Call your doctor to verify before going to the hospital. But that was my experience.
