Whether your skin sags [or fails to tighten up] post-weight loss has mostly to do with age, how much weight you lose, how rapidly you lost it, genetics, and whether you do any strength training exercise. About all you can do is try and lose gradually, exercise regularly, and incorporate muscle building into your routine. If you end up having a little excess skin, I know it seems scary but it's not the end of the world. It does get better over time on it's own, and for whatever is left, that's what plastic surgery is for :D .

330 starting weight and 72 years old will compound my problems. Would need to look for hygein and skin protection products - OTC and natural. Maybe Spandex will help outside the house? Plastic Surgery is not an option. I'm not a vain person but still concerned about appearance. Also, I plan on exercising but flapping skin might intefere? I'm fat right now but at least my skin is fairly tight- LOK!

Just curious as to why plastic surgery is not an option?

Tuck and roll and duck tape work pretty good. Plastic Surgery sucks worst thing I ever did to my self. Do not worry about skin and enjoy the new life you will get.

As you lose weight promote new skin to grow, exfoliating and massaging. As BKLYNgal87 has said, depends on weight, and genetics. strength training can help. Also as I read through out these blog wait for as least two years, thats when the weight loss should stabilize and to give your skin the chances to bounce back, but realize not all broken skin can bounce back.

Thanks guys! I'm 21 so I think my age with do me well however my arms are rather large so I'm super concerned about that area. I know my legs will be fine I'm curvy so not to much fat just in the stomach area. I've heard massages help I'm not sure how but I've seen some pretty successful people that's proven that. I'll do whatever it takes and I think that will take me a long way.

Hevnbound lol it's so scary and BKLYNgal thanks for the info I guess I'm hoping to find a remedy to make the chances slimmer

So I think those wraps might really work and if you're like me and are willing to try anything....it's worth a try.

This is all I can think about ever since I watched some videos on youtube a few days ago showing before and after stories. Those videos have been bothering me more than the video of someone actually in sleeve surgery. I need to put myself in check bad, when did I get so vain?

Boo that is far from vain, that's just being completely honest. Who wants that? I'm sure ppl see it as a price or sacrifice but you are beyond normal for being concerned.

I guess I just said vain because my goal is to eliminate health issues, and live longer. Not to look cute in a bikini, ya know?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
