surgery Monday the 3rd.... what ifs!

Recommended Posts

So my surgery is monday the 3rd. I cant believe this is actually happening. But im completely terrified. Im 34... i have a 6 year old...what if i die?? What if something goes wrong. What if i get to skinny and my husband isnt attracted to me anymore? Oh God... what if i have sooooo much loose skin that he isnt attracted? I have kind of the apron stomach already so i know i will have to have the pannaectomy (sp) after i loose. But i just have this mental picture of havkng so much loose skin it like hangs down to my knees. And its like flappppin away during sex and like hits me or him in the face :/

And my boobd are awesome but they sag a little now after the dear daughter breastfed. So after this they are gonna be so tube socky.

I will prob be able to tie them in a knot and throw them over my shoulder as my stomach is flappin in the wind.

But seriously..... i can NOT leave my precious beautiful daughter without a mother.... just because i dont want to be fat anymore!

Anybody with me??

Wrong way to think. What if you dont have the surgery,, Not to be morbid but you will probably die by 50. Thats why i had it. 9 months in and im down just under 200lbs. Saved my life for sure and no looking back.. So please consider this option becasue even if you lost it on your own you would more then likely gain it back plus some. Thats most people story.. So you are doing the right thing. Your being given the tool to fix the issue. Use the tool and dont ever go back the other way casue u can...

Wish you the best

Chris

I can sympathise GGDROP. I had all the same thoughts running through my head. I have a 8 and 4 yr old.

But two weeks post op, and couldn't be happier.

Those feelings are completely normal.

You will do great xx

There are always risks with surgery but if you don't have surgery you know your future is bleak. Don't forget the influence you have over your daughter. She will learn to eat healthy from you, to exercise, to have a positive self image. In my opinion the risks are worth the rewards. I am a male and certainly can't speak for all men but thinner is usually better we don't care about some extra skin, and what we find really sexy is attitude. If you are flirty, confident, and feel sexy because you look and feel better we will want you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
