Bypass or Sleeve?

have a question for you all. I had the lapband back in 2010 and had to have it removed in 2011 and so I just recently decided to have gastric bypass, but when I went to my doctor he gave me the option of having the gastric sleeve, I am not sure which is the better option for me. I want to see if anyone out there has had one of the other and can tell me what they are happy about and why they had one or the other?

I am RNY patient, when I began my WL journey, I walked into my surgeons office with a made up mind to have lap band, I chose lap band because I felt that I didn't have over 100 lbs to lose, but because of my co-morbidities, such as GERD, severe acid reflux, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, knee problems, borderline diabetic...ally due from my weight, he suggested RNY. After I researched the difference between all of the tools, I would have ended up having revision because of GERD. I know people who had the sleeve, still suffer from GERD...but remember, research, know that everybody journey is different, that these are tools, and believe in your decision.

Hi yocolefleet I have all the same things except sleep apnea. I have a severe case of acid reflux and it is awful!!! I hate it!!! I had the band already and it has been removed. I am very sure what I want now and I totally believe in my decision now more than I did when I started my research!!!! Thanks for the advice!!!
