Anyone out there with Avmed from Florida that was approved for gastric sleeve if so how long did it take???

My Avmed with the State of Florida would not pay

My mom couldn't get the first approval and she had Avmed but it was a different contract they told her it didn't cover. But I have already got my first approval an I have did 6 months of dr visits,psyc eval an i have high BP that they have treated me for since 2004 . Did u do the 6 months of dr visits an stuff , did u have the HMO or PPO. Sorry I am asking all this . I am just trying to see if it's been worth it at all.

Different from you, in that I did not pursue it. I gained 30 lbs. from meds a year ago, which put me to 230, then my BP, diabetes, knee replacement and asthma all were working against me. I retired, was eligible for Medicare, and had the sleeve. Avmed is still my secondary insurance and will not pay. Just thanking God I was able to have the surgery.
