Gout?

I am post op surgery 11/18. I am in agony since yesterday with my big toe joint and the ball of my food underneath the joint. Has to be gout. Never had it but I know people who have. I cannot walk. Will call doctor tomorrow but I see on the web there are a few links concerning bariatric surgery and gout. Anyone experience this?

I have had 1 attack( not related to the sleeve ) and my hubby had his first attack 2 weeks ago. His dr. Gave him meds and the intense pain was gone in 2 days. He is cutting back on beer and red meats I have been having a shot of dark cherry juice a day and have had no problems.

Thank you! I know there is a med and hoping I get through the night with this pain lol. I quit drinking months ago before surgery. I will find some cherry juice! Happy New Year!
