I went out on a limb while my family and I were together for Christmas this evening to share with some extended folks my decision to have wls. Everyone was interested in hearing although not necessarily opinionated one way or another. All except for one person,The sister I expected to be the one who would support the decision. Now I am crushed and second guessing all of my hard work to get to this point. I told myself over and over I wouldn't let the naysayers get me down. Where your doubters ever right? Did you ever face the dreaded 'I told you so' speech?

There will always be haters. Sad, but true. I experienced that at work tonight. In a group setting a few ladies were commenting on my weight loss. One person said "I could do that too if I had surgery".

This is about YOU. Who cares what others think. Others don't live your life or walk in your shoes. Being overweight is a struggle and the decision to have WLS is a huge personal decision. If this is what you chose, go forward with it.
