I am one of the fortunate post-op VSG patients (6 days) who has breezed through this process. I've been amazed that I have not struggled much, except with low energy and little endurance. My daily shower wipes me out, and I need a brief nap afterwards!
Late yesterday afternoon, I learned I could begin my full liquid diet! Immediately, my thoughts turned to some of my favorite foods and how I could adapt them. I've been craving vegetables! All through the night, I dreamed of various concoctions, and this morning when I woke I had a plan. I took a can of Campbells Savory Vegetable Soup, blended in my Magic NutriBullet with some additional beef broth, 2 scoops of unflavored Protein and Pampered Chef''s sun-dried tomato herb seasoning, and other spices on hand to taste. YUM!
I'm interested in learning about other's adaptations of on-hand products, as well as some of your favorite recipes for both the full liquid diet & pureed foods. Has anyone pureed chicken or turkey in a recipe? I'm craving meat too!
