Hello everyone-not sure how to use this system yet- i'm new-Gotten approved by Ins Co.-done all my pre-test issues-still nervous as a cat- met a new friend at the first support group I attended in Aug- surgery scheduled Oct 26th! yikes! confused, servous and concerned with the life changes ahead-not really uncomfortable with WHO I AM but have some health issues now to get under control and well- tried it all, to do that --ALL MY LIFE!

so talk to me and let me know what should I look out for -liquid diet starts second week of Oct before surgery-is that normal-

Welcom QueenMichelle

you picked a good place to ask questions, I'm not banded yet but finaly got my lon and sergery date for the 28th of October. I have herd of the liqid for two week befor hand and I don't envy you.quite a few Dr. require somthing like it I'm at the point where I am braking haddits like drinking liquids at meals and not having soda pop. that is a hare one for me.

any Keep us posted and good luck

:D

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: I was banded 5/5/04 and have had nothing but complications. I had to have a second surgery to remove my port. My wound is still open. I need a 3rd surgery to remove my port but can't until my wound heals (could be months.)

But I'd do it again in a heartbeat! It's very exciting. I was a size 26/28, and today I'm sqeezed into size 20. Rock on, and good luck!

Michelle and Ellen,

Congrats and good luck on both of your surgery dates. I had my surgery 5/8/04 haven't had any complications, lost 61.7 lbs so far and absolutely love it. It is tough the first few weeks with the liquid diets and such but it does get a lot better as each week progresses. Hmmm, surgery advice: SLIP ON SHOES! Best wishes to both of you and hope to see both of you around a lot, Teresa

Welcome Q Michelle,

I was banded in June and I have loved every minute of it. I have had no complications other than my husban's libido rising...lol. Good luck and welcome.

Rica,

that is the best complication that I have heard of yet and come to think of it my husbands libido has been on the rise since my surgery as well.. must be something in the air.. :D
