Repost..Protein shakes (expiration date)

I found premier protein shakes at my local dollar tree so I stocked up. Problem is I'm pre op & I will not have a long pre op diet. The sale by date is before I will be on regular liquids. Does anyone know if they can be frozen? Or if they are good after the sale by date?

From what I was told when I worked at a local grocery store, "Sell by" & "best by" are actually okay to use a little past that date. However, if it says "expires on" or "use by" then you may want to go ahead & throw whatever it is away. As far as freezing them, I'm not too sure about. Seems like they may become watered down upon defrosting & they may lose some of their nutritional value. Again, I'm not quite sure about that.
