Quick Question About Unfills

Those who had their bands unfilled before surgery, did weight come off for you? Was it easier? I am hoping since I had the unfill that I am able to eat more dense protein in hopes of losing,

I honestly think once you are completely unfilled, you will be doing fantastic if you manage to maintain your weight until surgery.

I have to lose or else they wont schedule surgery. I need 10 lbs of weight off. I had 5.5cc in a 10cc band. It was too tight as the barium was slowly going through. It was nice to have a meal without vomitting or getting stuck.

I had my band unfilled on 8/5/13 and had my sleeve surgery on 10/25/13. I was able to maintain my weight within 2 pounds until my pre-op diet. I didn't try to lose weight during this time. I do agree though it was nice to not have to worry about food getting stuck and the visits to the bathroom to dislodge stuck food.

I am 7 weeks out and down almost 25 pounds since surgery. I started out at a BMI of 35 so expect to lose slower since I don't have as much weight to lose.
