I am 3 days post op and around my port incision, mainly below it, it is red and warm to the touch, the redness is about the size of a tennis ball. I have a call in to the doctor but in the meantime can anyone ease my mind? Anyone else experience this?:help:

Only your doc can answer about this but you are correct to check. Warm to the touch is often a sign of infection. But there is no point in speculating or worrying until you know the facts. Just be assertive with the doc. This is something that should be checked out asap. If no response from the doc I'd even consider going to the emergency room. I don't mean to worry you but if it is an infection it could get worse pretty quickly.

I did talk to my surgeon and he has started me on antibiotics. I don't have any drainage or anything. Its just red and warm. And actually I had one dose of antibiotics last night and this morning its alreay looking better. Thanks for the advice.
