Day 6 Post Op and Getting Hungry...

Today is my 6th day post op and I'm getting worried that I'm pretty hungry. I did 2 weeks liquid prior to surgery and now I'm almost a week post surgery with liquids...

Anybody with advice on how to avoid falling off the wagon? I had some saltines with my Soup... and some mashed potatoes. I was lucky in that nothing bad happened but I'm scared that it might happen again. I had eaten so few calories in the prior several days that my hunger really got the better of me.

Any advice or ideas to help would be greatly appreciated.:help:

I don't have any advice for you---but I feel your pain. I am 6 days post op too...and I am having the same problems. I went to the doctor today and asked if I could start eating mushies...and he said no...one more week of liquids. aargh:hungry:

It must really depend on your Dr. ...My doctor only has us do liquids for 24-48 surgery. Sorry you're hungry. Maybe you should call your doctor and see what they say.

I was starving five days after my surgery too and I called my doctor and they allowed me to start with protein shakes which really made me feel better. Talk to the dr's office and see what they say. Good luck!
