In 2005 I got the birth control shot and picked up 100 lbs in 1 year. Plus since my appetite increased I of course ate more! Now I just can't get rid of the weight.

I am married and have a 2 yr old son. My parents have high blood pressure. My mom and grandmother both had strokes. So getting this weight off and wanting to eat better is a priority for me. I am so scared I will have one.

I started this process in June 2013 and now waiting for Aetna to approve me! I pray I can get this surgery by the end of the year.

Welcome!!! good luck on your journey!! I just got home from the hospital today. I had the sleeve done yesterday! The hardest part is seeing everyone's food posts being thanksgiving. I'd give anything for some stuffing right now lol! But I've had plenty thanksgivings so missing one won't kill me

Thanks! No I didn't need a drain thank goodness! That's the first thing I asked when I came to after surgery. Lol! But so far my recovery has been pretty slow going. I just keep up on the pain meds and I'm ok. I just can't wait to be free of any pain and start working out!

I am so excited! I was approved today and surgery will either be next Tuesday or Wednesday !!! Starting my preop diet tomorrow!
