Hi everyone!!

I got my approval for my lap band surgery a week ago and then I got a call today saying that my doctor is an out of network provider-great!! Now I'm waiting for a call from my insurance to see what I have to do about getting the approval switched over to another doctor.

This is nerve racking, I thought I was soooo close, but now I don't know. I did find another doctor that's actually closer to my home within my state so hopefully the insurance company will agree with the switch and I can go from there. I have to go to a seminar on April 9, then a consultation with this new doctor on the 11th. I'm trying to shoot for surgery for the end of May, I hope. I've been at this for a year trying to get an approval, and now this. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

This would tick me off!!!!!!!!! The FIRST thing they should of told you was that they were out of network!

During the seminar I went to the nurse asked for all insurance cards (if you wanted) and they checked with each company to see if coverage was available and if the surgeon was in the network. It sure saved me from surgeon searching.

I wanted to go to a seminar, but the lady said they had just had a seminar and that she would make an appointment for me to see the doctor so that's what I did. I looked on our out of state website for participating providers and that doctor was on there. It has been a year and maybe they're not on there anymore, but they forgot to tell us.
