Hello from South Florida

Like so many of you, I have struggled with my weight my whole life. I am serioursly considering lap band surgery and would love to hear from those of you who have undergone this procedure.

I have heard that if you suffer from acid reflux this is not a recommended procedure. Any info you can provide is sincerely appreciated. Thank you!!:girl_hug:

I don't know about everyone I can only tell you about me , but I had reflux and when I had surgery my Dr found a hiatal hernia and fixed it, I no longer have it, so actually it helped me get rid of mine. But that is me, I guess everyone is different but it worked for me!

Welcome to LBT jhlcomp. I had my surgery 17months ago and I don't regret it...it has been hard at times sticking to the program...I just love food too much me thinks...but it is still working for me...slowly but surely...and I wouldn't have it any other way...Best wishes on your investigations. Keep us posted!

Hi and WELCOME!

The lapband is quite unique in dealing with acid reflux! For those that have a history of reflux , they've found that the lapband seems to 'cure' it.

For those that have never had reflux issues, sometimes, the lapband causes it!

weird!

Good luck in your journey!
