5 Days Post-Op Low Heart Rate!

anyone else have this issue?! I know its normal right out of surgery due to anesthesia but 5 days out?! I've weaned off percocets and now just taking my vitamins. My heart rate hasn't gotten out of the 40s.....i am light-headed (but also was frequently before surgery without heart rate low) and sleepy! Thanks in advance!

Anything below the 50's is bradycardia -- you should be seen by a physician, or at least speak with your surgeon.

Make sure you are getting enough fluid, dehydration can cause all sorts of stuff. I would call your surgery team or medical clinic just to be safe. When I was in the hospital my heart rate was way low they made sure my head was up in a sitting position and lots of fluid.

I would totally call your doc ASAP. could be a vasovagal response post op, and needs to be treated. (search under vasovagal response after surgery).

Be okay.
