I had one who said I was not a candidate for the sleeve but refused to give a reason why. Matter of fact she was in the same office as the surgeon I was going to use & I had to pay cash to see her

Well despite the horrible meeting with the psychologist, after she received paperwork from my PCP and my therapist, she has approved me. My surgery date is December 9th! OMG this is really going

Then she said, well I'm not sure you are a good candidate for this surgery. I asked her why and she said, oh well because you are an emotional eater and as you said you tend to "fall off the wagon". I said, yes that is why I am in this situation. If I could stick to my diet for life then I would not need this surgery.
She kept saying she was concerned about safety, but when I pressed about the concern with safety, she said b/c I would want to go out and eat a big meal when I got sad. I told her I understood that I could not do that, and am doing the surgery to get that restriction.
At the end, I am setting up time with my therapist, but am extremely frustrated. I am self pay and paying someone $300 to not look at me in the eye and tell me i'm not a good candidates based on some forms is hard. After I see my therapist, I am going to call her back. I probably will also call the surgeon's office.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks!
