It's official, I have no restriction

Oh dear. I suspected from the moment I started eating food again that I didn't have much restriction. I've mentioned it a few times in various threads here and thought perhaps it's because I'm a band to RNY revision or that I don't feel full because the nerves aren't healed and sending full messages to my brain.

However I'm now 4 weeks out and just had a 400 gram (14 ounce) ready meal and a bowl of Cereal just an hour later.

I'm going back to see my nurse in a couple if weeks so will talk to her but has anyone else experienced this?

I could not eat that much in a day. 3 - 4 tablespoons or 3 - 4 ounces is it for me at one time.

  • I would talk to someone too. I couldnt physically do that! Im 6 months out and a 5oz yogurt makes me stuffed! Something doesnt seem right if you can do 14 oz. Keep us posted.

  • what is a ready meal..is it soft...i can eat more if it is like chili, i can eat a 14 oz chili and i could probably eat cereal an hr later because it is soft and liquidy...

Yeah it was quite soft. We call TV Dinners ready meals. I did suffer a bit later last night with feeling really full. So my mission today is to stop eating when I first get those 'enough' signals. I've never been good at that, preferring to finish whatever I'm eating (just one more bite, lol). So today I'm just going to stop and throw away whatever I have left if and when I get an 'enough' signal :-)

I actually can do the same thing. If it's soft and full of carbohydrates, I can usually get in much more than something that is only protein. I am a band to bypass revision too and have wondered the same thing. Why can I eat so much more than some? I just measure everything now and stop the second I feel full. Seems to work ok for me.
