Gas when laying down

Was sleeved on Friday (11/1). I haven't had any major issues with gas pain, especially now that I'm up and walking a lot. My issue is when I lay down, I notice a ton of gas pains! It wakes me up at night. For the record, I'm sleeping on my side and sometimes wake up and find myself on my stomach. Is this normal? Anyone had similar?

I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that I've been drinking protein shakes right before bed - like maybe I'm not up and giving it time to digest a little.

Make sure that you are up walking around, that will help move the gas out. The protein drink before bed might be part of the problem. I am not able to sleep on my side it hurts too much (I had surgery on the 31st).

That's the thing. I have virtually no gas pain at all during the day. It's only when I lay down. I have my body in a cocoon of pillows at night, so my side is actually pretty comfortable - until my stomach start rumbling, I feel the gas moving and finally let out the mousiest fart ever.
