I've been taking some things at soft gels. Recently, my surgeon posted info saying people with bypass don't get anything from the use of soft gels and needed to only take vCaps or tablet forms. Has anyone heard if this is the same for sleeved patients?

I was just diagnosed with ADHD and I is recommended to take fish oil, but they are all soft gels.

I am not sure where these doctors are getting this info. The sleeve is not a procedure where you should have any absorption issues, unlike the RNY. If you swallow a fish oil pill and 1/2 hour later you taste fish oil burps, your body is absorbing it. lol

LOL - I highly recommend the "burpless" variety! And Endless80 is so right - those burps will let you know!

As far as soft gels for sleeved patients, I just had my post-op appointment with my surgeon and was put on a high dose of Vitamin D (prescription strength) and it's a soft gel. I'm thinking if soft gels were a problem, it would be in my paperwork, etc. Good luck!

I take a lot of Vitamins and minerals - some are softgels - I've never heard of any issues of us taking them.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
