Help! Vegeterian in full liquid pre op diet... Recipes please :)

Recommended Posts

Hi there. In my blog at www.sleevers.wordpresss,com I have some Soup recipes with shrimp, lobster and egg. Also one with chicken that you could do with fish/shrimp instead. Search for "full liquids" and you will see them. If you do eggs you might like the hot and sour Soup and egg drop too. They are all full liquids with veg and Protein.

You could also do lentil Soups with a little Protein powder blended in.

So you want to liquify fish? Im confused. Full liquids usually doesn't include meats or anything solid or pureed. Full liquid includes milk, sugar free pudding, sf custard, sf Jello, vegetable juices, Protein Shakes, broth, strained Soups, cream of wheat (very thin) etc.

Today is my second day on the pre op. Been having Protein shakes, sugar free pudding, yogurt... But the salty stuff is what's really has me stuck.. I had some lentil Soup today (but it doesn't set well, makes gassy... TMI, sorry).

I don't eat meat, or poultry, and I'm allergic to shellfish... (In another words, I'm a pain in the butt). :(

I stocked up on Soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant. Miso and egg drop would work if you don't want the meat and some will specially make the soup to your specification..I'd you wanted tofu..etc.

I also strained the light progresso soups...they tasted pretty good.

You can add unflavored Protein powder to any of these to get your Proteins in.

Well. On the pre op liquid diet most of us had to stick to a certain plan. I would ask your nut before eating off the plan. For instance I was allowed to have Protein shakes and Protein Soup.

Yea, i can eat those things as well, i just need soup recipes (im not a great cook.. N creativity usnt there either when it cones to cooking). ;)

Thanks!

So many of us did Unjurys chicken Soup flavored Protein powder. It's like bouillon but not. You mix it in 140degree Water and voila! broth with protein. It met my salty requirements during pre-op. Prodiet also makes a creamy chicken soup that's not chicken, but chicken flavored. That might work for you as well.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
