I am so happy to hear that because I am scheduled for the hernia repair as well on the 30 and starting to feel a lil anxious

it will all be ok. surgery was super easy for me. all except the gas that they pump u up with after surgery. it had all settled on my chest.

I didn't kmow I had a hitial hernia until I woke up.

Not sure how it changed my healing but today is the first day (surgery oct. 7th) that I feel good. I slept pretty much thru the night, I didn't have to go to the couch.

As I eat my throat doesn't hurt but my stomach lets me know if it doesn't agree with the food or to slow down.

I also had a hiatal hernia repair w/ my surgery and didn't even know I had one till I woke up and heard the nurse from PACU giving report to the floor. I'd say surgery for me was pretty good and the pain after was bearable. When the brought me to my room from recovery I had to get up/walk to a chair and thought the nurse was crazy but was able to do it. I did feel the pressure pain but kept forcing myself to walk in the hospital and when I got home. I was terrified of clots and wanted to avoid the pain of trapped gas. It's all but a faint memory for me. I had my surgery 4/8/13. Good luck!!
