It could be from gas pain. I had mine about same time as you but I kept continuously taking sips even though it hurt and it eased up as the day progressed and next day. Now it does hurt if I drink too quickly too.

The left side pain is very normal. The surgeon has to dilate muscles to pull out the piece of stomach they removed and sometimes they put a very deep stitched into those muscles to pull them back together. I am 1 week out and the pain is getting better. Days 3-5 were my worst . Feels like a runner's cramp. I found that muscle relaxers help because of the muscle that's irritated. You may want to ask your surgeon if you can take that. Make sure you're taking your pain medicine as often as you can and use this time to rest. No two people heal the same so your situation will not be exactly like your husband. I was a little surprised at the pain myself as I used to have a lap band and did not experience this but found it was from the muscle manipulation. Focus on staying hydrated and sip fluids all day long. Even if its tiny drinks. You may be in the regret stage which we all go through. I promise you this will pass. You will feel like a completely different person in the week. Congrats on your new life!

This to shall pass!! The left side pain is totally normal! Mine seemed worse than most and I had the soreness for 4 weeks. Not pain but soreness after a week. I hafta say I took my meds :) I got nothing about swallowing thing for ya! Sorry Hope all get better soon!!

I am 16 days out still very sore hate the protein shakes but loving eggs tuna and canned chicken.

Ive gone to wearing a binder. The stiches inside pull when I lay one side or the other or even standing. The binder helped ALOT. I feel pretty good after 10 days except for the occasional twing of pain.

I'm October 8th and still have pain in the middle of my chest. It's like major heartburn I guess?? I've never had heartburn before. I was able to eat my first sugar free pudding a little bit ago and now have the runs. I know tmi. I'm ok with the incision points but this heartburn is the worst. Trying to keep hydrated. Have only been able to drink about 2 bottles of Water (if that) everyday. After 4 hours of taking percoset, I get the chills and the pain comes back. I have learned that after 20 minutes of taking the pain meds, I can get most sips of water in as well as my Vitamins. And then of course I'm not freezing anymore.

How are you feeling?

Mine was the 7th also. Pain meds and gas x. My muscle issue is on the right and it's getting better. Believe it or not, moving around is good. I am sure you are burping alot. Keep it up. It does help and you will find yourself burping less and less. Walk as much as possible to. That helps alot.

Wow, you are doing good to get down 2 bottles per day!

I always drank water so that's no problem. It's these chills along with the pain I'm worried about

Chills can be a sign of infection. Call your Doctor! Tonight!

Haven't had a fever until now. Just checked and it's at 99.1.

Don't take any chances sweetie. Call or go to an ER.

Spoke to the doctor. I'm having esophagus spasms which is pretty common. Great. No fever above 100 and wants me to check back with him tomorrow.
