I had swollen ankles for several years before the surgery. I had pitting edema down both my shins, and was starting to swell in my feet near my toes. One week post op and it was all gone. 3 weeks late

Well I have never had high blood pressure but I did have almost constant swelling in my feet and ankles. I think they have only been slightly swollen 3 times since surgery 4 months ago.

Hi sleevers,
Does anyone have experience of an improvement in Fluid retention in ankles after weight loss?
I'm told this is a long term result of high blood pressure. Something about the veins being weakened.
What i'm kinda hoping is that less weight will help too, and it can't hurt my poor arthritic feet to carry less anyway.
But i do hope there's an improvement in my veins ability to return fliud from the extremities.
Damn I wish I'd been a good boy earlier....
