anyone from PA and have amerihealth caritas

Hello my name is Amanda, I am wanting to get the band done to lose weight, I have a really bad lower back since I was 18 and now 31 and its just getting worse, the doc said I am a canidate for this, the insurance said it will cover it but have to pay 300$ for education for it. I wanted to know if anyone else has this insurance and how it went for them. I dont want this to be a stop in my path just a little bump thanks all

Hello im from pittsburgh but i have UPMC insurance. I met my deductible so i did not pay anything out of pocket. Where are you having surgery at?

so you have state insurance, I too have state insurance i have amerihealth. I dont have a deductable cause its state. Do you have state insurance or is this just your insurance??? how long did they make you be on your diet before surgery. ???

No i work for UPMC hospital. I had a 6 month supervised diet. I.started in january 2013 and my surgery was june 2013.
