_{I was told last week that I have a hematoma at mt port site by my doctor. My incision sit there has opened up just a little and its draining out! Has any body else had this happen?}

Not at my port site but on other places. A hematoma is a collection of blood under the skin. It occurs from bleeding under the skin, usually after injury. Essentially, it's a big bruise.

Sometimes if the pressure is enough under the skin, the blood will drain. This isn't necessarily a bad thing because it'll help it heal faster and feel better.

Just watch it for signs of infection otherwise I wouldn't worry about it. They're no big deal.

I agree with Mis73, most important thing is to watch for infection. Otherwise, not a biggie!
