Does anyone know if Bariatric surgery is covered under short term disability?

Mine would have been but I wasn't out long enough to use it

My surgeon says he keeps his patients out 6 to 8 weeks so I'm trying to prepare. Hopefully employee wellness will be able to tell me something otherwise it's Fmla for me

It was covered for mine. I was out 3 weeks, and only had to use one week of PTO. The process was pretty much painless too. Good luck to you!

When I applied for FMLA, they gave me the number to call short term disability once I used all my PTO. Didn't need it though as was only out two weeks.

It was covered by my policy, plus I have state disability(California ). I was approved for 6 weeks, which is the time frame my doctor put down on the forms.
