Hello to all the December surgery folks out there. I am having RYGB on Dec 17th. I saw the doc and staff for my final appt a few days ago. I am starting my high protien, low carb (under 20 mg daily) early. I don't have to start until three weeks before, which is Tuesday the 26th of next week, but I thought I'd be a big girl and get it going early. So, yesterday I did a great job of eating lots of meat and cheese and I only consumed 12 grams of carbs. As always, I pounded the zero calorie fluids. Today I made lean hamburger meat balls, with low carb cheese, garlic, salt, pepper and and egg. I made some low carb brown gravy and enjoy these for brunch. I am not a big morning eater, but I love MEAT any time of day, so I enjoyed that. I am not a fan of eggs really, so to hide that in other foods to get in extra protien is a good. I really would love to drop 20 or so in this 3+ weeks, that I have before surgery. Can I do it?

I was 401 in 2006.

I had the lap band.

I struggled to get/keep any weight off.

I was 302 at the surgeon two days ago.

I am having surgery on Dec 17th (RYGB)

My goal weight to start with is 180.

Heck, I cannot wait to be in the 200's then out of them in the 100's,

Would love to hear from any of you out there that can "relate" to me!

Happy Journey to all.

Yay!!!! Mine was the 18th but they just moved to the 17th!!! Surgery buddies! Lol. I am becoming more excited the closer it gets but I am have moments where I'm extremely nervous so who knows. I think day of surgery I will be a MESS. I have heard u can request something for anxiety and I just may need that! When does ur pre op diet start ? Mines the 3rd!

My two week diet is almost all liquid. I think it's really similar to like Optifast. I am gonna order some stuff right before Thanksgiving. My doctor wants me to lose like 15 lbs. The goal is to stay under 800 calories a day. We can get through the pre diet together. So far I'm on for the 18th but that's still dependent on my Insurance Approval. So Fingers Crossed!

Did my hospital PreOp yesterday! 2 hr class and it went well! Kinda put it l into perspective tht dec 2 is coming fast. I have a Nutritional PreOp on Tuesday, my surgeons PreOp on the same day and bloodwork, EKG all on Tuesday. My surgeon doesn't require a 2 week diet but 2 days prior. So next Saturday and Sunday I will be on high protein liquid diet which the nutritionist provides! So excited yet nervous at times!

I'm sorry to hear that u no it. I start my liquid protein diet this Tuesday the 26th. But our nut says we can have one and only plate of our thanksgiving dinner at least. I'll have use our platter and call that my plate! We'll see . . .

So your doc authorized that?

Im on day 4 of my 2 week preop diet. Surgery scheduled dec 3rd. Im dying to eat normal food that isnt bland and kinda gross but im super proud of the progress ive made so far!!

I am excited as this liquid protien is not doing too well. I have a headache and wish and hope it will be better. I am looking forward to the plate of food. The smells around me are so good... it will be okay. The sick thing I am doing is watching food network!!!
