Just a warning... If constipation gets worse, dont wait. Call your surgeon's office. The procedures to take care of this were horrible, but I feel so much better. I hope I never have to deal with that again!

Not to be gross but what are the symptoms besides not going? I'm always scared this will happen to me. I eat a lot of dairy now since surgery. It's easy to grab a piece of string cheese for a snack.

I have this weekly.... It's a whole lot to explain on why I'm here. I'm new n checking it out b4 I have my feeding tube Friday.. But u need a white powder called myerlax. U put it in a drink every day till ur regulated n still when it works u cut back on it then start using it again. It's a big bottle u can buy over the counter OR they can give you a prescription .. The way the take care of it at the er always gives u diarrhea and I for one cannot drink fast enough to replace the fluids. And ill dehydrate. I choose the powders myerlax that a glove in my but n nasty med any day. Just my opinion I hope it helps!

I felt like I had to go all the time but when I would try it was extremely painful and either nothing would happen or a small amount of liquid. I told the er doc it felt like a "plug". Unfortunately I was right.

Can I ask why your having a feeding tube placed?

The hospital did give miralax to take now but I was way past that working. I had an extremely compassionate nurse which definitely helped but it was still humiliating and painful.

I can't stop losing weight. I STOPED at 140 perfectly happy and then I started getting pain in my belly and intestines and wasn't gas( I wish)! Surgeon looked for everything in my upper part but not lower. But I started losing again now I'm 119 and so malnourished I need to gain weight n hope n pray when my weights up he will interface harder foods as I only eat a yogurt maybe 2 a day and baby food n I'm 3 years out!!! I was fine for the first 2 so not understanding this pain dehydration . And neither is my surgeon. I'm scared but I don't want pain any more and I'm sick of people telling me I look gross like an anorexic ! Well I do look like it but I'm not starving on purpose!!! I can promise that! But I just don't know what else to do.. The nose tube plugged after 2 days and Norway I was gonna have surgery every time it clogged! Not easy to put in as it passed my stomach in my duodenum . So I gotta do it in my belly and actuly put it in my stomach! I'm just so upset . I did this to be healthy n play w my kids now I gotta watch out on how I feel or I'm er bound

I am sorry that you are going thru this, so your saying you cant eat because your in pain and they cant find the source of your pain?....how long will you have to have a feeding tube?...How much have you lost?...maybe another opinion?...Please keep us updated...prayers heading your way~

Yes exactly. N it's been a year full of guesses and surgeries . I am going to have it till I'm up to a. Weight that's good for me and we will try food again. If it don't work or im in pain or start losing ill have it for life

May I ask which one you prefer? I've had a couple of unpleasant bouts of constipation and I am anxious to find a 'routine' thing I can use to keep everything humming, so to speak.

I like the ones like a pearl. You only have to take one a day and they are tiny. I have always had this issue. When I take these I go everyday and its normal. Thank god honestly!!! I seriously thought I would have to go to the dr several times over the past year. Plus research I have done online shows positive studies with rny patients and a probiotic
