I'm going to start therapy on a weekly basis. It was suggested by my med nurse to be in therapy before, during and after wls... Does anyone else see a therapist??

I was required to see a therapist for 6 months before surgery. I've continued going to see her through this journey, it's very beneficial to be able to talk with someone about the happenings of this new life.

I see my therapist 2 x a month. I already had a therapist that I saw occasionally, and have found it to be very beneficial. We talk about feelings...go figure. It really helps me not stuff my feelings or cover them up with food or other substances.

I have been heavy most of my adult life and am not sure i will know myself after i lose weight- will i know who i am, how to handle new attention? Does anybody else feel this way?

DEFINITELY!! I've never been small a day in my life. I don't know what life will be like as a "normal/average" sized person. But I can't wait to find out! :-)
