FYI .... A guy i work with introduced me to spagetti squash today. that right folks a vegetable you can subsitute for pasta and pardon my french but its damn tastey. his was your basic red sauce with turkey meatballs. actually tastes better that the traditional pasta .

Today is my Surgiversary! I haven't lost over a hundred pounds as I had hoped, but I'm not giving up on that goal. I am sitting here in my gym clothes with tears in my eyes at how far I've come. My heart is overflowing with thankfulness! So many that have walked with me through this journey. You are all a huge part of my success! The words -Thank you- just doesn't seem to be enough. You have supported me through all 232 pages of this forum. I would not be where I am today without all of you!

I am free of 75 pounds, 6 medicines, a sleep machine and the worry that I would not be around to see my boys live their lives!

Have a blessed day!

Congratulations Mel! For every post that that you have found support in, you have given back to me 10 fold! You are a HUGE inspiration - but now in a small body! :) I would not be here without YOU! Celebrate this life changing year - you deserve it!

I am couple of weeks from my Surgiversary on June 25th, but I made a big step toward my goal this morning! The scale FINALLY moved! It reported that I am now down 195 pounds. I had hoped to make 200, and I know I might not get there, but I am sure excited about the drop this morning! Keep on rocking Junies! What a year!!!

All these great posts about surgiversaries is so encouraging! Just what I need to hear today. I'm waiting for results of a biospy (sp?) I had done yesterday and my husband goes in for back surgery tomorrow. It always seems like everything happens at the same time. My surgiversary is 6/20 and I am 6 lbs from my goal of 135 at a year out. I'm very happy with where I am with my weight loss and look forward to getting out there once I've nursed my husband back to health! Keep up the positive attitudes and thanks to everyone who posts here - truly inspirational everyday!!

Right back at you, friend!!

We will hit our goal weight together! I'm not even sure if I know what I want my goal weight to be.

Thank you, RJ!

I think we should all go on a cruise together! In our brand new bodies!

OK Peeps... Sorry I've been absent. Life.. you know how it goes. I'm a little bummed and need some advise to get my head back in the game. I'm eating OK.. staying close to guidelines but my weight isn't dropping anymore. Granted. I'm exercising on a regular basis and the whole Muscle is heavier thing is there but DANG... I'm down to 183-185 range and while thats not a bad thing, I had hoped to lose a little more... like around 20 lbs more. My surgiversary is next week and I have lost just over 70 lbs this year, just over a hundred since I made the "big decision" and 115 from my highest. I drink one to two shakes a day, eat one to two servings of protein cereal and a protein bar if I don't get my second serving of shake. I average about 80 grams of protein a day and just what I listed alone is about 900 calories. Doesn't leave a lot of room for real food (Calorie wise) so I usually go over a bit. Is there a solution to getting past my stuck? I can feel my ribs and hips. I have a jawline now and cheekbones. Should I just accept that I'm where I am and pull up my big girl drawers about it?

I am exactly in the same place as you. I've lost about 75 pounds since last years surgery date. I am around 190. I had hoped to lose 25 more before this date.

Here are some of the things I have learned. I have heard that if you eat the exact same things at the same times of day that your body has become used to those calories. Try switching up your good a little even if you don't get in exactly 80 grams of protein. Maybe try trading out one of your protein shakes with cheese sticks or Greek yogurt. I will be interested to hear if it helps at all.

If you are doing the same exercises, then switch that up to. Try a new one. Maybe your body is just totally freaked out! I have been trying that for a couple of weeks and noticed when I dropped my protein shake in the morning that I was able to get past the 4-5 pounds I had been playing with since late January.

Good luck!

Anyone else mourning the loss of a few bra sizes? I didn't even think about it before but this is hitting me harder than I would have expected...

heck yeah my breasts are long now which is hard to buy an accurate size bra and my back/side far is soft which spills over in on the sides of my bra so right now I wear 38 g/DDD but prob could go down to 36DD but not a good looking DD cause the volume is in the bottom part of my breasts and not on the chest of u get my drift lol. I could use a lift and a tuck.
